Patient Outcomes

National Joint Registry

Patient reported outcome scores are collected by the National Joint Registry in the UK. These are questionnaires given to patients prior to surgery to record their level of pain and functional ability. The questionnaires are the Oxford Hip and Oxford knee score. These are repeated 6 months after surgery and the difference between the two scores is termed the health gain.
